We all know that before development, Qatar is a desert area. Although it now boasts of large buildings and some greenery, there are still some areas with very few vegetation and just miles of sand. Some areas even have hill-sized formation of sand which are called Sand Dunes. Whether you are a resident or just visiting Qatar, Bashing Sand in one of these Sand Dunes and riding a Quad Bike is a must-do in Qatar.

From its wide array of collections and artifacts, to its architectural gem of a building and the spacious and serene park that surrounds it, Museum of Islamic Art is indeed a must see in Doha, Qatar. Situated on its own island of approximately 45,000 sqm, Museum of Islamic Art is bounded by the waters of the Arabian Gulf. It can be accessed through the Corniche Road with a beautifully landscaped promenade that features cascading waters, palm trees and a water fountain. The crescent shaped MIA Park is at the building’s side. It features vast green space, playgrounds and a café. We won’t delve much on the park as it certainly deserves its own post; we mentioned it as it is an integral part of the Museum’s surroundings.

With its increasing political influence around the world, Qatar is not as unfamiliar now as it was years ago. Before, many people don’t know where Qatar is, some just associate it with the Middle East without differentiating its own sovereign. However, within just a few years, all these changed. Qatar has now become a major player in the world. It will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup and have acquired a lot of investments abroad. Slowly but surely, it is making a name for itself and is certainly making a mark on the world.

Expat is the shortened term for Expatriate. Wikipedia says that word comes from the combined prefix and noun Latin terms ex which means “out of” and patria which means “country, fatherland.) It is the label given to a person who voluntarily left their home country to live and/or work somewhere else for some period of time.
